Today was the start of our first field ‘collaborate’ brief which was both scary and yet exciting. We were put into groups in the afternoon session, from 2-3:30, that were a mixture of fashion students, product design students and one textiles student. Our group was focussing on the brand Reebok.  In the afternoon session, we spent a few hours giving each of the different subject groups a tour of all of our studios, it was interesting to see all the different studios again and have fellow students tell us about all of the machinery and what sort of things we can create on them. We then spent the rest of our time sat together getting to know each other more which I think is really important, especially when you’re going to be working together in this group for the next few weeks. We all found out where everyone was from and things that people liked to do in their spare time outside of university and we also found out things that related to our subjects like; what sort of things we could do well, what we couldn’t do so well and what we could all bring to our team. I am really happy with the group that I have been put into as I think that we are all so different that we will all bring completely different views and ideas to the team and I look forward to working with the group and getting to know them more over the next couple of weeks.
