First final outcomes

Before looking at designing my window display I needed to decide where it would be set. I looked at various department stores in London like Liberty’s, Harrods and Selfridges. After looking at these I chose to go for Selfridges because they’re windows were the largest and the footfall that they get on the day to day being located on Oxford Street, Orchard Street, Duke Street and Edward Mews.

To start off my actual window display ideas I took to photoshop to create an initial look that I wanted to go for. I used images from Pinterest and from google to see the basic idea and then I could add in different bits and also take some out.

First initial ideas.

I new that I wanted the main skiing figure in the front of the window showing off the clothing, the way that it was durable and the cold colours in the window showed off how warm the outfit would be. Behind the slope is a scene of the alps and then the lights that I saw in the ‘exhibition design’ book that I looked at by David Dernie were added in above the line of the alps, this would be changed because I think that they need to flow around the same line of the mountains, as if they were to be behind them and the mountains would block them out. The lights would also be used to draw the consumers eye outside to inside of the window. I felt like that this scene was not busy enough and I wanted to add more, ensuring that I didn’t over crowd it.
